Etsy

I first discovered Etsy after Sophie introduced it to me. Etsy is an online marketplace for buying and selling all things that are handmade; a crafter’s Amazon or eBay, if you will. It’s a fantastic place, and I love seeing all of the amazing things people make. I love doing things like knitting and cross stitching, and every time I surf Etsy I either get really inspired to make something or find loads of things I want to buy!

My Etsy account is disalarming. Currently I’ve only purchased two things (a knitting pattern for cupcakes and another for donuts – they will make amazing gifts for friends and family!), but I know that I will probably end up buying many other things the more I surf Etsy! I’ve also been contemplating opening my own Etsy shop this summer. I love knitting things like scarves and hats, and as I will be making them over the summer anyway for a hobby, perhaps I could try selling some of my handmade goods on Etsy. It’s a project I would love to pursue, and if the research I do when looking into this venture proves to be positive, then it’s very possible to see my Etsy shop open this summer!
