Basic Chocolate Cake
Jan. 6th, 2010 10:27 amI don’t bake (or cook) when I am at school as the only kitchen available to me is a shared one and it’s generally in a pretty disgusting state most of the time. When I came home for winter break I wanted to start baking again, but I was a little skeptical of my skills in the kitchen after a semester-long absence. I ended up choosing a basic chocolate cake to bake, and it turned out amazingly.
The best part about the cake is that I substituted the unsweetened chocolate portion of the batter with Nutella so that I could skip the icing altogether. As I baked the cake right in the middle of the holiday season, the last thing I wanted was for more unnecessary sugar and butter to go straight to my hips and using Nutella worked like a charm!
On an unrelated note, my blog turns one year old today! Happy birthday, blog!
