Cooking and Cuisine
Jul. 12th, 2009 08:00 amI have been left in charge of the cooking for the next three weeks in my house. This isn’t a problem as I like to cook. I’ve been helping my mom out in the kitchen for as long as I can remember (although that has decreased in recent years due to laziness, I’ll admit) and took two years of cooking classes at the first high school I went to. Baking is my favorite, although I do enjoy cooking savory foods as well.
However, my recipe repertoire is somewhat limited, no small thanks to the fact that I lost all the recipes I used in my school cooking classes. I have been browsing cookbooks and scouring the internet for recipes as I’m always up for something new, but I feel like I’m always looking for the same types of recipes: tasty pastas, roast poultry, casseroles… I want to broaden my cooking horizons and try recipes that are completely out of my comfort zone! My favorite type of cuisine is Italian, but I know that there are so many other fantastic dishes out there of the non-Italian variety that I have yet to try.
Question of the Week: What are some of your favorite recipes/dishes? What are your favorite types of cuisine?
